Spooky music is heard as we see a dark forest at night with the on-screen text: "All Hallows' Eve - When the Witches Ride"; Steiner uses several special effects in this cue, including wordless women's chorus, glissandi, trills and tremolos, chromaticism, accented gestures, staccato flutes, stopped horns, pizzicato strings, and the use of Hammond organ, celesta, and bells; later, the voices sing "Cuckoo" and then break out into "weird laughter" accented by "1/2 tone shakes" in the strings; when the girls jump out of a pile of leaves to scare their sisters, Steiner adds slide whistle and flutter tonguing |
