Description: The dinner music continues and moves to the foreground as Leslie enters the main ballroom; we see people dancing and a few musicians in the background (one pianist, a bass player, a trumpeter, a guitarist, and a saxophonist); they are obviously faking it since the instrumentation does not match the music that we hear (a dance band with a full reed section and brass section)
On-screen: Leslie goes to the party
Music annotations: [m. 63] dim; [m. 64] From here on regular dance band arrangement even brass figures or licks would be o.k.; [m. 67] Dance orchestra only from here on; [m. 68] 1/2 tone lower
Film annotations: [m. 64] Dialogue; [m. 81] End of reel / This continues in Reel 11
Orchestration annotations: [m. 74] brass; [m. 81] cymbal with stick
Analysis: This cue has an alternate ending that modulates to Ab major
